About Mishcon de Reya LLP
Mishcon de Reya is a leading London law firm, located close to the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS). It was founded in 1937 and currently employs more than 1000 people with over 600 lawyers, offering a wide range of legal services to companies and individuals. It has offices in London and Singapore and an association with Karas LLP in Hong Kong. The founder of CCLS, Professor Sir Roy Goode, was a partner in the firm of Victor Mishcon, before joining the Queen Mary University of London.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following eligibility criteria
- You must have a conditional or unconditional offer for the London LLM programme
- You must be a full-time student;
- You must have the strongest academic record;
- You can have either a UK or International fee status;
- You must have made an application for the London LLM programme by 2 April 2023;
- You must not receive funding from another source.
What does the scholarship cover? How is it paid?
- The tuition fees for a full-time international student
- The scholarship is not payable directly to the successful applicant but is offset against your student fee invoice.

You must have applied for the London LLM programme by 6 April 2023 (if you have applied by this date and have not received an offer by 1 May please contact pglawscholarships@qmul.ac.uk quoting your application number and date of initial application.

Criteria
This scholarship will be awarded to those who we deem to have successfully demonstrated their reasoning for being awarded a scholarship based on the following criteria;
- Academic merit
- Professional achievements (if any)
- Financial need
The compulsory personal statement should include all of the above information and should be in response to the text as detailed in the ‘How to apply’ section below.
What are scholarship winners required to do?
If you are awarded a scholarship you may be asked to assist the Law Marketing Team with marketing activities such as the postgraduate law open evenings and student profiles and videos.
Please note school scholarships are also subject to university-wide Terms and Conditions as well as any course/School/Faculty conditions or criteria outline.
How to apply
To apply for this scholarship please complete and sign the online application form (the link is at the bottom of this page) and a 1000-word (maximum) statement in response to the following;
We will also take into consideration the following documents submitted with your programme application. Please ensure these are all uploaded to the Queen Mary application portal.
- Transcripts of your law degree and any other legal qualifications.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- 1 x reference letter.
Incomplete, incorrect or late scholarship applications will not be accepted or processed.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application approximately by 14 June 2023 please wait to be contacted in this regard.
Please note that scholarships (both applications and awards) cannot be deferred.
