Basic Information

Form Description

This scholarship supports outstanding viola students enrolled full-time in the School of Music at San Francisco State University. In the absence of eligible viola applicants, cello students may also be considered. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, musical talent through an audition, and be in good academic standing. The award is renewable for one additional year based on eligibility and availability of funds.

Application Conditions

Must be a full‑time student at San Francisco State University
-Undergrads: minimum 12 units per semester
-Graduate students: minimum 8 units per semester

Must have been accepted into applied study in viola via audition
(If no qualified viola applicants, cello students may be considered instead)

Must be in junior or senior year as an undergraduate, or in the first year of a master’s program

Must maintain good academic standing with steady progress toward graduation

Minimum GPA of 3.0 (undergrad or grad cumulative GPA at SFSU)

Citizenship status is not restricted — open to all applicants, including international students
