    The Adrian Di Marco Women in Software Development Scholarship is offered by TechnologyOne and valued at $10,000 per year for up to three years for students who identify as female enrolled in an eligible course at Swinburne. Recipients will also be provided with opportunities to develop professional skills to support their chosen career through mentoring and other meaningful engagement opportunities offered by TechnologyOne, including an offer to participate in their internship program.

    Adrian Di Marco started TechnologyOne in 1987, as one of the first tech startups in Australia. Adrian’s vision was to leverage new and emerging technology to revolutionize the industry and build true software products, here in Australia. Today, TechnologyOne is one of the most successful software firms on the ASX, with a market capitalization of over $4 billion and more than 1,200 customers around the globe.

    In 2004, Di Marco won the Pearcey Award for innovative and pioneering achievement and contribution to research and development in IT, and in 2010 he was awarded Fellow of the Australian Computer Society. Throughout his career, Adrian’s visionary thinking, entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering courage in the face of challenges have allowed him to make the impossible possible, and drive innovations that have changed the face of the industry.

    The Adrian Di Marco Women in Software Development Scholarship is awarded to a female student who embodies the attributes that Adrian demonstrated throughout his career, to become one of Australia’s greatest legacies in the software industry.

     

     

    Value

    The scholarship is valued at $10,000 per year, for up to three years. 

    Recipients will also be provided with opportunities to develop professional skills to support their chosen career through mentoring and other meaningful engagement opportunities offered by TechnologyOne, including an offer to participate in their internship program.

     

     

    How to apply

    Applicants should complete an online application form and submit all supporting documentation by 31 March 2023.

    Incomplete applications will not be considered.

    Eligibility / selection criteria

     

    To be eligible for the Adrian Di Marco Women in Software Development Scholarship, applicants must:

    1. Meet the following criteria:
      • identify as female
      • Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
    2. Meet the following enrolment criteria:
      • be a commencing first-year Swinburne student in Semester 1, 2023
      • enrolled full-time in an eligible course (see courses eligible in the section above)
    3. Submit a personal statement (500 words) addressing the following points:
      • passion for chosen career and career aspirations
      • how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals
      • demonstrate a passion for innovation
    4. Provide evidence of financial hardship:
      • Centrelink statement
      • Payslips
    5. Provide a written reference from a community leader, employer, or teacher about your character and leadership qualities
